Christmas Decorations From Harrods Selfridges Men Women UK Christmas Shopping

Ok I wanted to write a short article about Christmas Decorations shopping also to take sneak look at two of the top department stores who have just opened their Christmas shop.

First of all let’s talk about the famous store Harrods. There Christmas decorations are on the second floor. First impressions very small layout compared to the other years. Not much imagination has gone on this year there was a Katherine’s Collection Father Christmas just sitting on the floor not very imaginative at all. I also felt the quality of the Christmas decorations was of the poor side I just don’t know what’s going on does no one have any idea how to display; the staff must get paid well for doing this.

Also as I said earlier it felt a lot smaller even from last year. Also there was no theme. I just felt there was no care at all just the expression well its august let’s just stick the tree out and just place the decorations over there, let’s get the sales in that’s all we need to do.

A message to the Christmas designers for Harrods lets have more quality please. Five years ago it was magical to go to Harrods for the Christmas decorations there themes were well breath taking and something to remember for many years on.

Anyway that is my thought on Harrods Christmas world for 2010.

Now let’s talk about Christmas Selfridges, myself and some friends come down to London to see the decorations in Selfridges and was lost for words with the tatty display we were seeing, I kept looking around to see what there was that i could buy to take back with me and come back with not a single decoration, we just kept looking at one and other saying what is the theme and why are we seeing so much of tatty glitter plastic items. I just could not understand that the buyers must have any months to plan ahead, and also get the theme to a magical theme were we would say wow that’s amazing, but sadly I could not wait to leave. I even asked one of the members of staff what the theme was and he said he did not know, i even asked for some of the well known manufactures like Katherine’s collection as each year we love collection the theme, and he did not know what we were talking about, so my friend said well we should go home and look on the internet it’s got to be better than wasting any more money walking around the shops at tatty things. The only thing I really liked were the Christmas cards I found this my chance they were really nice they are made from five dollar shake so least I liked something. So my finally my  thoughts on two leading departments in London they should look at how the Americans do there Christmas decorations I think they could learn allot from them!

O well lets wait till Christmas 2011 and see what they will be offering us the customers.
