Gift Ideas For Repeatable Gifts – How to Give the Same Gift Twice
Article by Gary Roll
This article provides gift ideas for presents that you can give to the same person more than once. Usually this is not a good idea and you would only repeat a gift by mistake. There are however a whole list of great gift ideas that you can not only give twice, but year after year.
The most obvious for a repeatable gift is a subscription. If the recipient of the gift receives a magazine, newspaper or other publication on regular basis then you could offer to pay for a subscription. You will need to ensure that there is not already a subscription in place and also that the recipient is interested. One example of a subscription that may not be repeatable each year is where the publication is a ‘Part Work’ and at some point the set will end. In that case the subscription may not last a year and you will need a different idea for the next year. Another example of this sort of gift is a ‘Year Book’ or ‘Annual’. These can safely be given each year as long as you are the only person giving it. This sort of publication is available for many sports and sporting teams. Finally in this category there are calendars and diaries. These can be themed and can be bought with pictures from TV shows and movies. They can also be bought to support a favorite charity. If the gift is for some one living in another country then a calendar with local pictures from your area may be a good idea.
If the recipient is a collector of some sort then choosing a repeatable gift is easy. Just find out what they need and get it. This idea is especially good for collectors of badges, ornaments or sporting memorabilia. In this case you can pick up items whilst traveling or from an appropriate web site. If they are not yet a collector then perhaps a stamp album and a start to the collection would be appropriate. You could then add to the collection every year. If you give a charm bracelet then you can buy additional charms each year. For collectors of small decorative objects you can buy tea-spoons, thimbles, paper-weights and the like.
Toiletries can be given as repeatable gifts. You might give a relative their favorite perfume or after-shave. You could give a gift basket with soaps, shower gel etc. You could consider giving skin care products. You need to take care with this sort of gift as someone’s choice of scent is a very personal matter. You would not want the gift to be left in the bathroom cupboard, unused.
Food and drink provide gifts you can give again and again. if the recipient is away from home then a gift-basket of favorite foods may be welcomed. You could provide a hamper with luxury items. If appropriate you could give alcohol, especially if they have a favorite brand. For a special occasion a bottle of fine wine or Champagne may be given. The classic food gift is a box of chocolates, especially a luxury brand from a fine chocolatier.
If you do not know what to give as a gift then consider gift vouchers and gift certificates. Vouchers for on-line stores such as Amazon or iTunes are a good idea, particularly for teenagers where their taste can change quickly. There are vouchers for chains of shops or for malls and shopping centers. You should ensure that there are a good range of suitable shops included.
All of the repeatable gifts noted here can be given many times. Obviously certain types of gifts suit some people more than others. You may want to check with the recipient that this sort of gift would be welcomed. Some people prefer surprises! There are good general ideas here for when you run out of inspiration. The gift does not have to be repeated, just through thinking about it you may find that perfect gift idea pops into your head. Good Luck.
